The Carr Center Summer Dance Intensive, presented in partnership with The Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA), is a world class dance program designed for dancers ages 8 – 18. The staff of DADA is composed of nationally and internationally recognized dance masters under the direction of Debbie Allen.
The Detroit Intensive is a full two-week program which runs 9am – 5pm, Monday – Saturday and culminates with a recital presented in the Ford Theater inside The Detroit School of Arts on Sunday July 24th.
Classes will be offered in the following areas of study:
- West African
- Dunham
- Modern
- Hip Hop
- Ballet
- Tap
- Jazz Dance History
An in-person audition is required for acceptance into the academy. There is a $25 audition fee. Auditions will be held this year on Sunday May 15th at the Detroit School of Arts, 123 Selden Street in Detroit. For more information contact Arts Academy Coordinator, Gina Ellis gina@thecarrcenter.org
