The Carr Center is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary with a Stunning Retrospective in the Gallery and Online!

Extended by popular demand to November 26th the historic exhibition marks thirty years of visual arts excellence and thirty years of Carr we have created a  series of exhibitions featuring artists who have exhibited with the organization during the past 30 years. HOMECOMING is dedicated to visual art and artists from around the world who over a thirty-year span have called The Carr Center a studio, classroom,  exhibition space or simply … HOME.

The historic exhibition is part 2 of a 2 – part series, curated by Lina Stephens and continuing in person inside The Carr Center Gallery. The Gallery is located at 15 E. Kirby Street in midtown Detroit, inside the historic Park Shelton.

Gallery Hours for the closing week are as follows:
Wednesday Noon – 5 pm
Thursday     CLOSED (Thanksgiving)
Friday          Noon – 5 pm
Saturday     Noon – 5 pm

The participating artists of HOMECOMING Part 2 include:Carrie Mae Weems, Carole Harris, Mindy Mitchell,Hugh Grannum, Andrew Evans, Morgan Bouldes, Robin McDaniel,Pat Kabore, Toyin Akintoroye, Ray Wells, Marian Stephens and more.

Please note Carr Center COVID protocols have changed. Mask wearing, though still strongly recommended, is now optional when visiting the Gallery.
