Jahbrielle Henning Rayford:  director | writer | photographer

Jahbrielle focuses on compelling storytelling through narrative, music, and documentary projects, working with companies like HOORAE, Raedio, and Madewell.

Rayford believes deeply in the visual arts, music, and language as pathways to help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. With a style made up of colors, cultural history, music, poetry, and family traditions, she’s passionate about using these tools to move us toward our highest ground.

Her award winning short film, “If These Locs Could Talk,” will be featured in the upcoming Award Winning Short Film screenings at The Carr Center Performance Studio on Saturday, December 17th, 7:30 pm. This film explores the importance and connections African Americans have with dreadlocks. Everyone has a story to tell but the commonality we have is the journey of learning more about ourselves through our hair.
